Tate, who also has the nickname Lumpy, is an adorable, short-haired, grey and white, young adult, male tabby. He is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Tate was one of several cats in an outdoor colony that needed to be spayed and neutered. It is felt that Tate, his siblings, and another cat were abandoned outside based on their overall behavior with people. Because Tate is young, and only shy, not feral, the decision was made to have Tate placed in a foster home rather than return him to a life outdoors. Tate is adjusting to his new surroundings. Tate finds a sense of security in the presence of an adult, friendly cat, and will then turn over for belly rubs and purr when petted by a person. Tate just wants to be loved, but can be stubborn when that sense of security is not there. Tate is not aggressive in any way, just shy and scared, which with constant interaction and play, he should overcome. Tate is very curious and sneaks peaks at surrounding activity. He enjoys the company of other cats, and therefore should be placed in a home with another friendly cat for companionship. Tate has been reunited with his sister, Tabitha, and it is preferred that the siblings be placed in a home together. The ideal home for Tate is one that will give him patience as he adjusts to his new life, and one that will give him lots of love, attention, and security.
